Sandstone obelisk with relief carving of a mounted Trooper, laurel wreath, and crossed rifles at base. The four attached plaques are fashioned from white marble. The Australian War Memorial records indicate Trooper Waddell died on 22 September 1900, instead of 27 September as inscribed on the memorial.
