Note: This honour roll was previously located in the Corndale Hall. Along with the hall it was destroyed in a major flood, which occurred in February 2022. The above photo of the roll had been taken by a member of the Richmond River Historical Society earlier and is located in the Richmond River Historical Society Museum. Former description: The Corndale Rifle Club First World War Honor Roll was a decorative timber board, made of red cedar. Constructed by noted furniture manufacturers Brown and Jolly of Lismore, the board featured a decorative pediment, a shelf at the top and three small steps at the base. Painted within the pediment were a star and the crossed Union Jack and Australian Red Ensign. The flags were positioned above sprigs of wattle. The list of 29 names was painted in gold across three columns. The centre column was for those who lost their lives during the war.  The roll was unveiled in the Corndale Hall on the evening of 6 October 1920, before a large audience. At the time of unveiling the Northern Star, 9 October 1920, described the board, stating "It is 54 by 18 in. of solid red cedar, hand polished, and the lettering real gold illuminated. This makes the 110th honour roll completed by [Brown and Jolly]." Captain of the Rifle Club, Mr E.A. Arthur, presided over the event, and said that 29 of the Club's 56 members volunteered for service. While most had returned, six had died. The roll was unveiled by Reverend F. Winn on behalf of those who had returned and Reverend F.H. Druery on behalf of those who made the supreme sacrifice. The Corndale Rifle Club was established by August 1901. The photo of the honour roll is available for viewing when the Richmond River Historical Society Museum is open to the public.
