This war memorial is a bronze plaque with the emblems of the Australian Military Forces at the top: the Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), and Royal Australian Navy (RAN). It lists the names of 43 Australian servicemen who were declared Missing In Action during the Korean War. The names are divided under three headings, as outlined in the Inscription section below. The plaque was created following a community project developed in 2011 between the Australia Funeral Directors Association and the Korean War Veterans Association. The project identified thirteen plaques to be supported by Funeral Homes in various townships. The first plaque in the project was dedicated in Wollongong in December 2011, with other plaques planned for 2012 in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the ending of the Korean War. The Coffs Harbour plaque was sponsored by Victor Rullis Funeral Services as a community project. The dedication service took place on 27 July 2012 and was attended by the Coffs Harbour RSL sub-Branch, Korean War Veterans and the sponsoring Funeral Services Company. The plaque is located in Anzac Park in Coffs Harbour outside the Coffs Harbour Club. The park is used for various commemorative ceremonies held throughout the year.
