This memorial swimming centre features a half-sized Olympic pool. In 1969, tenders were called for the filtration plant of the pool, and after several years of work, the pool was opened by the NSW Minister for Public Works, the Hon. Davis Hughes on 30 November 1971. It was built at a cost of $68,000. The State Government provided a quarter of the cost and the rest was met by the local residents and Cockburn Shire Council. The State Government funded numerous War Memorial Swimming Pools throughout NSW around this time.
