The memorial is a roll of honour for members of the Valla branch of the NSW Grand United Order of the Oddfellows, who served in the First World War. It is in the form of a illuminated address, printed in colour on paper and presented in a timber frame behind glass. The top of the page features illustrations of various flags of the allied forces, the eye of God, and three females associated with symbology used by the order. There is also a decorative green border, foliage, and two eternal flames. Nine names are handwritten on the roll and in the bottom left-hand corner is a line to write in the date but it was never filled in. Across from this are three signatures, including the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master. The roll was designed by the Grand Lodge, presumably with the intention of branches using it to inscribe their own list of names. This is suggested by the two spaces in the inscription where the branch name and number can be handwritten in. On this roll, the branch name 'Valla' and number '8841' were added. The roll was unveiled by the District Master, Brother A J Martin, at the Valla Public Hall on Wednesday, 21 June 1916. The Nambucca and Bellinger News reported on the event on 30 June. They also printed the six names of those listed on the roll at the time, indicating three others were added after the unveiling. Some of the veterans listed on this roll also appear on the Valla First World War Roll of Honour. Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of the Valla Public Hall.
