A framed, printed and illustrated parchment. At the top of the parchment is the emblem of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces, which is between the Union Jack and Australian flag. Below this are the words 'Roll of Honor'. On either side of the parchment are illustrations of fluted columns, inscribed with the names of battles. At the bottom of the parchment is the Australian Coat of Arms. These features form a border for the six columns of names which are written in the centre of the page. Notes on veteran names: No records can be found for deceased soldiers from this area with the following names: J Andrews, A E Bateman, J Birrell, E Brown, F Bull, J Butler, H H Devereaux, H J Devereaux, M Dire, A D Downie, R H Gordon, J M Gulbray, W Harris, W Hornby, P F McMahon, W Newman, R O Perran, J Rigby. Their status codes have been given as Killed in action (KIA), as that is what is indicated by the memorial. F Bull could be John Felix Bull (DOD). W Harris could be William John Harris (DOW) or William George Harris (KIA, British Army). W Hornby could be William Robert Hornby (DOW). P F McMahon could be Patrick Francis McMahon (DOD). J Rigby could be James Matthew Rigby (RTA). H Taylor could be Harold Taylor (KIA) or Harry Taylor (DOW) as both came from the Newcastle area. All other status codes have been taken from information contained in the Australian War Memorial Roll of Honour, the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database, the Auckland Museum Cenotaph database, and the National Archives of Australia.
