The Far North Coast Vietnam Memorial is a polished black stone monument. The base is a curved wall, which has the emblems of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, and Royal Australian Air Force attached to its front face. On top of the wall is an obelisk, made from the same material. The front of the obelisk is inscribed with a dedication to members of the Australian military forces who served in Vietnam between 1962 and 1973. Inscribed on the back, is a map of South East Asia showing Vietnam and Australia. The memorial is positioned on a circular platform of brick paving stones, consisting of two levels. A ramp is incorporated into the design to allow easy access up to the base of the monument. The platform is surrounded by brick paving stones and two flagpoles stand on the pavement, directly behind the monument. The memorial was built in 1991. A number of plaques are attached to the base which provide details of its construction. It is located in Lismore's Commemorative Park, where commemorative services are held.
