Emily Bay, set within the World Heritage-listed Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area (KAVHA), is the serene and symbolic setting for Norfolk Island’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service. As the first light breaks over the Pacific, veterans, locals, and visitors gather on the bay’s grassy foreshore to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who served. The setting—calm waters, open skies, and the nearby convict ruins—adds a powerful sense of solemnity and reverence to the ceremony. Emily Bay holds deep cultural and commemorative significance for the Norfolk Island RSL sub-Branch and remains one of the most poignant locations for remembrance on the island.
