This timber and brass honour roll for the First World War is mounted on the front wall of the entrance building to the Inverell and District Memorial Olympic Pool. It was unveiled when the pool was officially opened by Lieutenant General Gordon Bennett on 1 November 1958. At the base of the roll is a plaque dedicated to the awarding of Australia's highest military honour, the Victoria Cross, to Private George Cartwright on 31 August 1918. A second metal plaque is also attached there, inscribed with additional names of those who served in the war. Other honour rolls on the wall commemorate the Second World War and other conflicts in which Australians have served.
