The memorial is a dark timber honour roll commemorating those who served in the First World War from Newrybar, Knockrow and Brooklet, three villages located in the Northern Rivers Region in the Ballina Shire. The memorial is topped by a classically designed pediment with supporting shelves at both the top and bottom and is framed by timber columns on each side. Ninety two names are listed in gold lettering across two columns on the honour roll. The memorial was unveiled in the School of Arts, Newrybar on 5 September 1916 (Northern Star (Lismore), 2 September 1916).
