This war memorial contains several elements. The focal point is a semi-circular grouping of four black stone pillars, with the insignias of the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, and Merchant Navy attached. The pillars sit on a teardrop-shaped base, which is a Maori symbol for 'Rebirth'. They are surrounded by a semi-circular wall with plaques listing the names and dates of all conflicts and peacekeeping missions in which Australia has been involved. To the left of the wall is a large bushrock with a plaque bearing a dedication from the RSL. The memorial was dedicated on 1 November 2014. It is located at the western end of River Street, on the southern bank of the Nambucca River overlooking the river and Macksville bridge.
