The Werris Creek War Memorial is located on a grassed island in the middle of Anzac Parade, Werris Creek, near the intersection with Single Street. The focal point for various commemorative services held in the town throughout the year, this war memorial has evolved over time. The original elements of the memorial are grouped together in the centre of the island. The main element is the clock tower, which is topped by two 'Ode' torches and has several plaques attached to its base. It is accompanied by a flagpoles and two Howitzer Mortars, positioned at the front and rear of the tower. They were captured by the 17th Battalion of the Australian Imperial Force at Broodseinde on 3 November 1917. The clock tower was dedicated on 22 April 1975 and the torches were dedicated on 8 August 1995. In 2020–2021, the memorial was refurbished and extended. These works included the installation of six laser cut-out panels, paying tribute to veterans of the Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy, Royal Australian Air Force, and Women's Services. Also added were four plinths with plaques and the Werris Creek Community Members Military Service Roll 1914–2018. New kerbing and a concrete path for mobility access were also installed. Four of the cut-out panels were provided through the Community Building Partnerships NSW Government Grant 2020. The presentation was made to the Werris Creek RSL sub-Branch on 21 December 2020. The cut-outs were officially unveiled by the Honourable Member for Tamworth, Mr Kevin Adderson.
