St John's Anglican Church Memorial Window, Taree

This memorial is a stained glass window, divided into two sections. The top window has an elongated Norman shape. It features the image of Christ on a cross, surrounded by servicemen, representing the Royal Australian Navy (R.A.N.), Royal Australian Air Force (R.A.A.F.) and Australian Military Forces (A.M.F.), and a nurse who is praying. The bottom window is square-shaped and features the Returned Service League emblem in the centre, with the inscription below. Underneath the window is a timber box. It has a glass front, which has been etched with the emblems of the R.A.N., R.A.A.F. and A.M.F. The full window is set in a timber window frame.   The window was made by John Ashwin and Co. of Sydney, designers of many stained glass windows for churches and secular buildings throughout Australia. The memorial is located in an alcove inside St John's Anglican Church, Taree. It is surrounded by flags and battalion colours. Access to the memorial is restricted to the opening hours of the church.
