This war memorial is a brick wall, located in the garden of Moonbi Public School. Three flagpoles are positioned directly behind it. The wall is decorated with a metal Rising Sun, which has illustrations of a soldier, the Southern Cross, and a building with a bell tower within the semi-circular portion of the sun. The front of the wall has two rectangular metal panels attached. The top panel includes the name of the school, a red poppy, and the school's emblem. The bottom panel contains an honour roll for the First World War. Those who were killed in action are marked with an asterisk. The memorial is the work of parents and the school community. It is available to view by appointment/tour with the school. Also on site is the Moonbi Public School First World War Roll of Honor. The names on the wall were taken from the roll, which was made in 1918.
