The memorial is a traditional timber roll of honour for the First World War. It has an elegant, rectangular design, with three decorative curved details at the top. Two green banners are painted on the centre panel, highlighting the title of the board. Below these are the veterans' names, which are printed in gold across two columns. The roll is located inside the Woolbrook A.I.F. School of Arts Hall. It is positioned alongside the Woolbrook Second World War Roll of Honour, which is of similar construction and style. Both rolls were refurbished using funds from a 'Saluting their Service Community Commemorative Grant', awarded in March 2017. The names listed on this memorial are also included on the Woolbrook War Memorial, located outside the hall. The installation of that memorial was also made possible through the grant. Access to the roll is restricted to the opening hours of the hall.
