The War Animals Memorial in Anzac Park, Glen Innes is a bronze plaque dedicated to all the animals who served Australia in times of war and conflict. The plaque is attached to the side of the Great War Memorial Kiosk in Anzac Park. The plaque is dedicated to 'the brave and loyal animals who served this country in many theatres of war'. It was erected by the Glen Innes Opportunity Shop on 24 October 2015. This shop is an organization that sells donated products to the public at reduced prices to raise funds for various community projects. Over the past decade there has been an increased interest in the role that animals have played in the theatres of war that have involved Australian military forces. Such a move led to the establishment of the non for profit Australian War Animal Memorial Organisation (AWAMO). This organisation was involved in the establishment of the War Animal Memorial at Glen Innes High School in 2016.
