The Honor Roll for the Tamworth District Hospital records the two Honorary Medical Officers who served in the First World War. It is located in the chapel of the Tamworth Hospital. Notes on veterans' names: Thomas Sholto Douglas was born in Greenock, Scotland. As a single medical practitioner of Tamworth aged 28 years, he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force on 8 February 1916 as a Captain in the Medical Officers Unit. His unit embarked from Sydney, NSW on board HMAT A69 Warilda on 22 May 1916. He returned to Australia on 21 November 1916. By 1921 he was the chief of the Tamworth Caledonian Society and Vice President of the Tamworth Returned Services League. Lionel Mason Snow was a married medical practitioner aged 52 years. He enlisted as a Captain on 6 July 1915 in the Medical Officers Unit. His unit embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia on board HMAT A24 Benalla on 1 November 1915 and he returned to Australia on 21 July 1917. By 1921, he was President of the Tamworth Returned Services League and a member of the Tamworth Rifle Club.
