This timber honour roll lists the names of 73 veterans from the Mallanganee community who served in the First World War. It is decorated with carvings on its pediment, and the centre panel is also carved to resemble a scroll. The roll was unveiled in front of a large crowd at the Mallanganee Memorial Hall on 27 February 1925. The ceremony was reported in detail in the Northern Star the next day. A guard of honour was provided by a local boy scouts and school children sang patriotic songs. Following the performances, Chairman Mr J W Hewetson opened proceedings. He mentioned the completion of the roll had been delayed as there was difficulty identifying enlistees from the district, and he acknowledged Miss Annie Pittendrigh for this work. The unveiling itself was performed by Colonel Bruxner, who had also opened the hall. The memorial is available for viewing when the hall is open for social occasions.
