A public meeting was held in the Bingara Council Chambers on 21 May 1921 to consider construction of a public hall to be known as Bingara Soldiers' Memorial Hall. Construction took place in 1922. The building was designed by Mr Paul and Mr E. W. Anderson of Bingara was the contractor. On 18 February 1923, the Armidale Express reported "a new brick building of outstanding importance at Bingara, the Soldiers' Memorial Hall, has been completed." More than a decade later, the Warialda Standard, 22 August 1938, reported the hall was to be handed over to the Bingara Council, now the Gwydir Shire Council.
