A brass plaque commemorating the death of Lt. Leslie George King Ross is located in the Holy Trinity Church in Glen Innes. Ross was born in Tamworth, New South Wales, and enlisted as a single law clerk aged 18 years on 12 July 1916 as a private in the 29th Battalion. As a Lieutenant in the 33rd Battalion, he died of disease on 9 November 1918 and was buried in the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery at Fouilloy, France.
