This war memorial is a modern swimming complex, which has been developed from 1968 to the present. It is dedicated to all those who served and fell during conflicts in which Australia has been involved. The pool was made possible through the efforts of the NSW State Government, the local council, and the Werris Creek district residents. It was officially opened by Davis Hughes, Minister for Public Works, on Saturday, 5 October 1968. The blessing was performed by Reverends S. Brennan and B.A. Lancaster. The Werris Creek RSL Auxiliary presented a plaque to commemorate the 20th birthday of the pool on 29 October 1988. It was unveiled by Mr Bernie Lyle. The RSL sub-Branch also presented a plaque to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the pool on 6 October 2018, and it was unveiled by Dawn Fraser AC MBE.
