At the annual Anzac Sunday Service on 25 April 2015, a Lone Pine was planted at St John's Anglican Church, Taree. The service and tree planting ceremony were led by Reverend Canon Keith Dean-Jones and the plaque was unveiled by Reverend Dean-Jones. A number of Lone Pines have been planted throughout Australia to commemorate the Battle of Lone Pine at Gallipoli. Seeds were brought back by a soldier following the death of his brother in the battle and in time one was planted at the Australian War Memorial and one at Inverell. Today plants are developed at the Yarramulla Nursery in Canberra and distributed to various places for planting.
