The Sir Edward Dunlop Memorial Lawn is a grassed area located within Remembrance Place, Murwillumbah. It is dedicated to Sir (Ernest) Edward "Weary" Dunlop, who served with honour in the Second World War. The memorial is marked by a bushrock, positioned in the centre of Remembrance Place. It bears a plaque, which is inscribed with the dedication and brief service details. The rock is surrounded by a well-maintained garden bed. Dunlop was born in Wangaratta, Victoria on 12 July 1907. At the time of his enlistment on 28 December 1939, his locality was Benalla, Victoria but he enlisted in London, England. He was discharged on 1 February 1946 as a Lieutenant Colonel. Remembrance Place features a number of memorials, including the Murwillumbah War Memorial and Murwillumbah Memorial Wall. Commemorative services are held on site throughout the year.
