Residents of the Quirindi district erected this building in honour of those who served in the Second World War. It is a single storey building, of typical 1950s design. It is constructed of red brick and features large timber-framed display windows and a red tile roof. The building was built to house the local branch of the Country Women's Association (C.W.A.). The association operates throughout Australia and has worked for decades to improve the life of residents in regional areas. The foundation stone for the building was laid by His Excellency Lieutenant-General Sir John Northcott, Governor of NSW, on 7 June 1956. The building was officially opened later that year on 15 December by Mr Nott, M.L.A., Minister for Lands and Mines and Member for the Liverpool Plains.
