This war memorial is a large swimming pool complex, with an entrance building facing Evans Street in Inverell, NSW. At the front of the building is an alcove housing a number of honour rolls, including the Inverell District Great War Honour Roll. The Inverell Memorial Baths Society officially launched its campaign in April 1953. In its issue on 22 April, The Inverell Times published full details of the society's establishment. Their goal was to generate community support and to fundraise. The slogan adopted was "Help Inverell Get Baths". Two months later, on 12 June, the Times published details of the model for the pool, designed by Mr and Mrs Ben Bates. Various projects were implemented to raise money, including a Queen's competition and a sports day, with approaches to be made to Inverell businesses. By the time the pool was ready, £25,000 had been raised. The pool was opened by Lt. Gen. H. Gordon Bennett on 1 November 1958, at the same time as the Great War roll was unveiled.
