The memorial was dedicated on Anzac Day, 25 April 2020. It is one of four similar panels located on a walkway leading to the Gloucester Memorial Clock Tower. The other panels describe Australia's involvement in the First World War, Korea and Vietnam. The memorial is located in Gloucester Memorial Park, which is a venue for commemorative services.
