The memorial consists of two marble plaques inscribed with a dedication to Flight Sergeant Laurence Pearson who fell in the Second World War. The plaques are attached to separate pillars located on the northern side of the St Mary of the Angels Catholic Church Memorial Entrance in Guyra. There is no dedication date on either plaque; however, the completion of the entrance was reported in The Guyra Argus on 28 February 1952. The article includes a copy of the inscription, indicating the plaques were installed around this time. Pearson was born on 28 September 1916 at Guyra and enlisted in Sydney. As a Flight Sergeant in the 460th Squadron, he was killed over France on 23 June 1944.
