The sandstone monument on a stepped base is noted for the intricate carving of Australian Commonwealth Military Forces badge, two cannon, rifle, laurel wreaths and other symbolic designs. Inscribed on Honour Rolls are the names of 23 men who did not return, and 104 volunteers who returned. Additional Information This memorial has outstanding significance: as one of three war memorials (Boer War, WWI, WWII) in the local Memorial Park. It was a one-off design by Warwick monumental mason W P Prout, and was unveiled by General Robertson on 11 November 1921. It is an historical record of local participation and sacrifice in WWI.
