A black marble and granite memorial in the form of an arch surmounted by an eternal flame. The floor of the memorial is polished marble with a world globe diagram etched in the centre. On each of the four pillars is a plaque representing one of the four areas of service - Army, Navy, Air Force and Civilian. Additional Information This memorial was erected by the Vietnam Veterans Association. ANZAC Way is not a memorial to the dead. ANZAC Way is a memorial to the deeds and sacrifices of ordinary people and provides an avenue to the Cenotaph at which we gather each year to honour our dead of all wars and of all service. ANZAC Way recognises the contribution of all Australians to the maintenance and protection of basic human freedoms worldwide.
