An significant example of Melrose & Fenwick, Townsville 1925, monumental masons of Townsville this monument is built from various material types. A solid plinth base painted white with a solid middle section and a granite type spire on top. Set on a concrete platform with white concrete posts. Red pipes connecting the posts to make a barrier around the sides and back of the memorial. A Memorial Arch is also located at Anzac Park. Additional Information Ayr War Memorial and Memorial Arch are of outstanding significance as they are the only such combination of war memorials in Queensland. At the front of the memorial an additional plaque bears the names of 34 World War II soldiers, and 2 for the Korean war. It is not clear if these men failed to return or were total enlistments.
