Monument features a full-sized soldier looking ahead, with arms reversed. A flagpole is behind the memorial, which is set in a park in the centre of town. Additional Information This memorial has outstanding significance: as an early example of the work of R C Ziegler and Son, Toowoomba; as it lists, among others, the names of John French, VC, and his brother Gordon; as an historical record of local participation and sacrifices in wars. The memorial is painted (white) regularly, the colour on the steps changing from brown to green in 1993.
