Half Moon Bay Memorial

Set on the foreshore of Half Moon Bay Marina and established in 1995, the memorial serves as the local focal point for ANZAC Day and other commemorative services. It it dedciated to and commemorates those who have lost their lives at seas in conflict and in peace. Comprised of an old iron Admiralty Anchor as its centre focus, the memorial also features a lower boulder, which serves as a plinth for commemorative plaques. Flanking the anchor and stone, at the rear of the space, are two elements used to frame and combined the significance of the themes. A plated line rope forms a small barrier, and three significant flag poles, arranged in angular format, lead the viewer to a picturesque back drop view of the open ocean.
