The original digger memorial was an Australian soldier in dress uniform standing at ease and was unveiled by W J Vowles, Leader of the Opposition on 13 November 1920. Mason was R C Ziegler, Toowoomba. It was damaged in a traffic accident and this exact replica from original plans, now in a park for safety. A flagpole stands to the left of the memorial.
