Dedicated to the honour of General Baden-Powell and the garrison at Mafeking, Boer War, South Africa, who defended the town from 12 October 1899 until 18 May 1900. circa 1902 Additional Information General Baden-Powell went on to found the Scouting movement in the early part of the 20th century.
