Life-sized digger is standing with head down and left arm resting on a tree stump similar to Lowther memorials at Blackbutt, Forest Hill and Tiaro. He is supported by a solid block above carved pillars on a stepped base. The whole memorial is on a solid concrete base with a concrete and pipe fence shielding it from traffic at the main town intersection. Additional Information This memorial has outstanding significance as an example of the work of P J Lowther and Sons, masons, Brisbane; as an historical record of local participation and sacrifice in war. Foundation Stone laid at Murgon on 25 April 1920 by Colonel Welder - Nellegen. Unveiled by General Spencer-Brown on 13 November 1921.
