A cast bronze Honour Board commemorating those who served in World War One from the Walkerston district and employees of the Palms Sugar Mill. A cast bronze relief of an Anzac soldier flank either side of the Honour Roll. It is housed within a wooden glass fronted case for protection. Additional Information This honour board commemorates the men from Walkerston and the Palms district who served in the Great War. The Palms was the location of a large sugar mill and estate a couple of miles north-east of Walkerston. The mill was badly damaged in the 1918 Cyclone and later amalgamated with the Pleystowe Sugar Mill. The Honour Board was originally located in the Walkerston Railway Station that was located in McColl Street. The Railway station was removed to Greenmount Homestead in 1985 and the Honour Board was restored by the local RSL sub-branch and relocated to its current locality.
