The nearby memorial gates provide a dignified frame to the Warwick War Memorial and comprise 4 pillars of rock-faced sandstone blocks and two sets of wrought iron gates. Leaded marble plates on the pillars bear the names of the 377 other locals who enlisted for active service in WWI and returned. The central pillars were originally surmounted by iron pinnacles, but these are now missing. The outer pillars are surmounted by marble orbs. The monument is flanked by captured guns (or war trophies).
