The base of the memorial is two tiers of grey coloured concrete. Mounted on the top tier are four black polished granite "blade-stones", located at each of the cardinal points of the compass. Laid in the centre of this upper tier is a black granite centre-stone, 800mm square, with the badge of the Australian Commonwealth Military Forces of the First World War era etched into the surface. Etchings on the obverse faces of the "blade-stones" list each of the services: Navy, Army, Air Force and Women's Services, and the reverse faces include a historic First World War image appropriate to each of the services. There are also two flagpoles. Additional Information Unveiled by LTCOL (RTD) Harry Smith SG MC and dedicated February 19, 2015
