The Australian Army Museum of New South Wales, founded in 1976 and located within the historic Victoria Barracks at Paddington, preserves and presents the long and significant military heritage of the Army in New South Wales. Its galleries trace the story of Australia’s defence forces from the arrival of the First Fleet in 1788 through the development of colonial units, Federation, and the major conflicts that shaped the nation. The museum highlights the contributions of NSW soldiers across two world wars, Korea, Vietnam, and more recent operations, including peacekeeping and humanitarian missions. Through uniforms, weapons, documents, personal stories, and rare artefacts, visitors gain insight into how the Army’s role in the state has evolved over more than two centuries. Set within one of Australia’s oldest continuously occupied military sites, the museum offers a unique connection between the Army’s past and present, preserving the legacy of the men and women who served in NSW-based units. **Opening Hours** Thursday 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Third Sunday of the month 10:00 am – 3:00 pm Group bookings can be arranged by phone **Entry Fees** $5 for all / Kids enter free
