This honour roll is a decorative marble tablet, attached to a timber backing board. It is mounted on a brick wall in Grafton Memorial Park. At the annual meeting of the Grafton Water Brigade (G.W.B.) held on Saturday, 30 November 1918, Captain D. J. Lobban of the Water Brigade offered to obtain and donate the necessary material for an honour roll. Mr C. Strauss, the Vice President of the Grafton Water Brigade Club made a similar offer. Alderman T. Matheson offered to inscribe the names. The tablet was inscribed and then donated by Alderman Matheson; the cedar frame was donated by Vice President Strauss. The memorial was then unveiled by Captain Lobban. The Grafton Argus and Clarence River General Advertiser, 1 December 1919, published details of the unveiling and listed the 10 names inscribed. The names of the 14 members who had enlisted were published in the Daily Examiner (Grafton), on 1 December 1918.
